| Part B Deductible You pay this each year before Medicare Part B starts to pay. It is $283 in 2026. | High-Deductible Plan G does not cover the Part B deductible ($283 in 2026), but what you pay toward it counts toward the $2,950 annual deductible. |
| Part B Excess Charges If a doctor is legally permitted to charge more than the Medicare-approved amount, the difference is called an excess charge. | After the $2,950 annual deductible (2026), High-Deductible Plan G covers 100%. |
| Foreign Travel Emergency Emergency care you need while traveling outside the United States. | After the $2,950 annual deductible (2026), High-Deductible Plan G covers 80% after a $250 yearly deductible, up to plan limits. |
High-Deductible Plan G has the same benefits as Plan G after you pay the annual deductible, which is $2,950 in 2026. You pay Medicare-covered costs (coinsurance, copayments and deductibles) up to that amount before the policy pays anything. Unlike High-Deductible Plan F, it is available whether you became eligible for Medicare before or after January 1, 2020. Like Plan G, it does not cover the Part B deductible ($283 in 2026), but what you pay toward the Part B deductible counts toward the $2,950 annual deductible. Its lower premium can make sense if you are comfortable paying more out of pocket before coverage starts.
Medicare Supplement benefits are standardized by federal law. 2026 amounts are from CMS and Medicare.gov. Rates and plan availability vary by ZIP code.
